Every county in Idaho is officially designated a Mental Health Professional Shortage Area, and the state's behavioral health system is currently meeting only about 25% of existing treatment needs. Recovery coaches are one of the most direct ways to close that gap, and Southwest Idaho is one of the areas that needs them most.
EPIC is working to change that by bringing a free Recovery Coach Certification Training to the Payette, Weiser, Fruitland, and surrounding areas. The 46-hour training covers everything you need to earn your certification through IBADCC, including: Advocacy, Mentoring, Ethical Responsibility, and Recovery Wellness. A training like this would typically run you over $150, but through EPIC, it is completely FREE.
To qualify, you'll need:
- A GED or high school diploma
- At least 12 months of continuous recovery
- The desire to show up for someone the way someone once showed up for you
